China's highest Dong drum tower to open

China's highest Dong ethnic group drum tower was completed in mid
November. It is located at Congjiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong
Autonomous Prefecture in the southeast of Guizhou Province and consumed
1.68 million yuan (US$207,100) investment. The drum tower is undergoing
mopping-up of its supporting project and will be open to visitors at the
upcoming Dong ethnic group Grand Song festival on Nov. 28. The drum tower
occupies an area of 470 square meters and boasts of a height of 46.8
meters with 29 double eave roofs.
